Astro^® X Cationic Starches

Astro X cationic potato starches are quaternary substituted starches with effective cationic charges over the entire range of pH conditions normally existing in paper machine systems.

All Penford cationic starches are available in lower pH "A" formulations to improve the stability of ASA size emulsions.

Astro X starches are excellent whenever a cationic starch is needed at the wet end of the paper machine for improvement in dry strength properties, as well as for use with alkaline sizing agents.
