Topcat® Cationic Additive
Topcat is a high-performance cationic additive used to improve dry strength,
dewatering, and system cleanliness in wet end furnishes containing high
levels of interfering substances. Topcat provides bonding improvement
in dirty systems where traditional starches and strength additives have
not performed well, such as unbleached or groundwood-containing systems.
Since it helps retain ionic colloidal materials, Topcat can improve
wet end cleanliness and runnability, while promoting dewatering. Topcat
can replace wet end starch, dry strength agents, and cationic polymers,
reducing chemical cost and simplifying the wet end additive program.
