Pen-cote L^® Liquid Binders

Pen-cote L liquid binders are ready-to-use liquid binders for coatings. Pen-cote liquid binders are supplied at solids higher than can be achieved with a standard cook-up starch. Pen-cote L liquid binders provide viscosity stability, water retention and binding power along with excellent compatibility with other coating ingredients.

Pen-cote L liquid binders are ready-to-use, high solids liquid starches with exceptional water-holding power. Solids are higher than can be achieved by any conventional method while retaining the molecular weight that provides the coating with viscosity, water-holding power, and stiffness. They can be used as a binder to replace conventional starch and can be used to increase coating solids.

Pen-cote L liquid binders can be used to extend latex by 20 to 25%, especially in a pre-coat and top-coat formulation, with no loss of quality while reducing costs. It can be used when no starch is available or when the cooked starch solids are too low for the application. In some cases it can be used to replace a few parts of synthetic binders or to replace thickeners.
